Murdoch University engaged Coniglio Ainsworth Architects to provide a range of masterplanning studies including;

  • Masterplan for a new and upgraded cricket facility within the Murdoch University Sports Precinct

  • Site Planning for 3 No. Cricket Fields and an AFL Oval

  • Murdoch University Sports Precinct - Proposed Road, Pedestrian Path and Associated Works

Key facilities considered as part of the masterplanning studies included;

  • a Pavilion building opposite a dedicated cricket field

  • modifications to the existing grassed playing fields,

  • indoor cricket/high performance building,

  • practice nets,

  • parking/set down areas,

  • provision for spectator seating areas,

  • pedestrian connection/corridor/promenade to broader sports precinct and existing adjacent pavilions, etc.

  • site planning design services to ascertain viability of available space to yield 3 No. cricket fields and 1 No. AFL football oval to the existing grassed playing fields

  • Incorporation of relocated children’s playground equipment

  • Landscaping around the new sports pavilion building, synthetic pitches and new road reserves.

  • Provision of perimeter nets to synthetic field to stop balls going onto adjacent roads/parking areas

  • Way finding signage.
