Morley–Ellenbrook Line (Ellenbrook Line)
Alliance Development (RFP) – Concept Design, 2020

Client: METRONET / Public Transport Authority (PTA)
Architect: Coniglio Ainsworth Architects (CAA) + MPS Architects (CAMPS JV)
Shortlisted Alliance Team: Ellenbrook Alliance (CPB Contractors, Downer EDI)

Project Overview

Our concept design for Noranda Station was developed as part of the Ellenbrook Alliance bid for the Morley–Ellenbrook Line RFP, which was ultimately awarded to and delivered by the MELconnx Alliance. Located within the Tonkin Highway median at Benara Road, Noranda Station acts as a key transport node and transition to the Whiteman Park landscape.

Urban and Landscape Response

A landscaped “Garden Walk” creates a shaded arrival sequence using WA native species, reinforcing ecological identity and buffering adjacent properties. Street planting and revegetation strengthen the bush corridor character.

Architectural Design

A clear composition of entry, overpass, and concourse defines the station. The eastern entry building provides a prominent arrival point with visible vertical circulation. A continuous roof unifies the structure, with screening balancing weather protection and surveillance.
