The key drivers for the Burswood Station & Associated Infrastructure Feasibility Design project was to meet accessibility compliance; extension of the existing station platform to meet future patronage growth on the network and act as a catalyst for development of the surround precinct on both sides of the station and thus contribute significantly towards the public domain. The objective and the required outcome of the feasibility design was to provide a well-researched and documented feasibility design report that investigates all items identified in the scope of services so as to;
inform Stakeholders on the potential nature and form of the station precinct and associated station infrastructure
inform Stakeholders on the potential for the Station project to facilitate a future Transit Oriented Development (TOD), to be undertaken by others. It is noted that the intent of the PTA Burswood Station project is not to build a TOD, but is rather intended to help facilitate one.
form the basis for a detailed design to be undertaken at a later stage.
form the basis of cost estimate that will be used to provide a basis for the project budget.
