Brighton Street
This addition to an inner city workers cottage is a strong, contemporary form that is sympathetic to the scale of the existing house and wraps around an existing mature tree, creating a shaded, north facing deck that the living spaces and master bedroom open onto. 'Corrugated iron' cladding is utilised to the new addition, differentiating it from the weatherboard cladding of the existing house whilst marrying with the roof sheeting of the cottage. Timber floors, screening and joinery provide a warmth that contrasts with this metallic outer shell.
